FAQ

Is a yagi better than an omnidirectional antenna?

It depends. A yagi is better when your signal source is mostly in one direction and you want gain toward it. An omnidirectional antenna is simpler when stations surround you. Directionality is a feature and a chore — you must aim.

Can I use a TV yagi for ham radio (or vice versa)?

Usually no. Frequency coverage, impedance, connectors, and power ratings differ. Buy for the job: see our separate OTA, ham, and cellular pages.

Why do boxes advertise huge mile ranges?

Retail range numbers are often best-case marketing. Real reception depends on tower power, terrain, foliage, height, interference, and your tuner. Use coverage maps and local reports as a sanity check.

Do I need an amplifier?

Not always. Amplifiers help overcome coax loss or very weak signals, but they can also amplify noise or overload from strong local stations. Try a solid outdoor antenna and clean coax first.

What is the weBoost yagi for?

It is a cellular booster donor antenna, not a TV antenna. See cellular booster yagis.

Do you sell and ship antennas?

No. YagiAntenna.com is an educational affiliate site. Purchases go through Amazon; sellers and Amazon handle shipping, returns, and support.

How do affiliate links work?

If you buy through our Amazon links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Prices and stock change on Amazon; we do not display live prices here.

Safety note: Outdoor antenna work involves height and electrical hazards. When unsure, hire a professional installer.
