Cellular booster yagi antennas
Some yagis exist solely as the outdoor donor antenna for a cellular signal booster. They point at a cell site, feed a booster (amplifier), and help indoor coverage. They are not a substitute for an OTA TV antenna and they are not a general-purpose ham beam.
How booster yagis differ from TV antennas
- Bands: Tuned for cellular allocations (the featured weBoost model focuses on lower bands around 700–900 MHz per brand materials), not the full broadcast TV channel plan.
- Impedance & connectors: Often 50 Ω with N-type connectors to match booster kits — not the 75 Ω F-connector world of most TV coax.
- System design: Works as part of a booster system (outside antenna → booster → inside antenna) with isolation requirements between outdoor and indoor antennas.
Featured cell / weBoost pick
weBoost Single-Band Yagi Antenna is listed as a Wilson Electronics / weBoost outdoor directional yagi (commonly model 301111): roughly 32.5 in length, N-female connector, pole/wall mount hardware, and gain figures in the ~8–11 dB range on the supported lower cellular bands according to brand/spec sheets. Brand copy emphasizes aiming at the nearest tower and using it with compatible 50 Ω boosters.
Label reminder: In our product rail this item is tagged Cell / weBoost. Do not buy it expecting cable-free local TV channels.
Practical notes
- Confirm your booster’s impedance and connector family before ordering an accessory antenna.
- Carrier aggregation and mid/high bands may need a different wideband or multi-band donor antenna than a classic single-band 700/800/900 yagi — check your booster manual.
- Booster equipment must comply with applicable FCC rules for consumer signal boosters; register where required.
